First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dwyer Instruments.
Intern
The entire process from application to offer took 4 weeks and the manager was open about the expectations and the job duties and explained the overall team structure in a very good manner. Overall a great experience
- Tell me about a time you missed a deadline and how you dealt with it.
Account Clerk
I found the job on an online ad. They emailed me for an interview about a week after I applied. First, I talked with two supervisors for about 45 minutes. Then, the hiring manager joined and we talked for another 25 minutes. It felt like I was repeating myself from the first part. No tests were given, just questions. They told me about the company, products, and work environment, including the hours (part-time, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm), days (Mon-Thurs), dress code (business casual, no jeans), and pay ($12-13/hr depending on experience).
- Tell me about a time you had an issue with a coworker and how you resolved it.
- How do you approach handling conflict?
- Can you effectively multitask and prioritize your tasks?
Recruiter
The interview process was straightforward enough until the second round. I had an initial phone screen with a recruiter and then a video interview with the head of HR. I thought that the interview went well, but afterwards I never heard from anyone again. I think they were put off because I wasn’t willing to commute over an hour one way to their office when I was originally told the role was fully remote. Not a great overall experience, honestly.
- Are you able to work from our office?
Product Manager
The process included a phone interview, a personality test, and an in-person interview with several people, followed by an offer. It was quite long but resulted in an offer. You should trust your gut feeling after looking around the office. Pay attention to the people there, talk to them, and ask for their opinions. The interviewers were pleasant and professional.
- Can you share a weakness of yours?
