Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Duolingo.
Intern
After I got through the design challenge, the next step was a 30-minute collaboration chat interview over Zoom with a senior designer. This was the last interview stage, and they asked me some questions focused on my collaborative work and projects, not any other kinds of behavioral or background stuff.
- Can you tell me about a time you worked with someone difficult on a team project?
Intern
I filled out an application with some essay questions about my background and interests. Then, I had a SuperDay where I did an online assessment with three coding questions and then a behavioral interview. The technical interview was arranged by difficulty, and the main goal was to answer at least the first two questions. The behavioral interview was about my interest in Duolingo.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work at Duolingo?
Intern
I went through 2 rounds of interviews. everyone was very nice. I had to give a powerpoint presentation about myself and career for one of them. they asked pretty basic questions like why I was interested in the company, etc. I think the second interview I was a little more nervous
- Why do you want this role?
- Tell me about yourself and your career.
