Office Manager
I had a brief phone call first, then an in-person interview with the controller and owner. The in-person part was mostly them explaining the company and the job, including potential future aspects. They didn't ask many direct questions about my background, given the interview length. I was happy with how it went and talking to everyone. I saw some negative reviews before, which worried me, but they seem to have improved. The recruiter kept me updated when the process took longer and when they made their decision, even giving some feedback. It was a really good recruiting experience, and I wanted to share because it seems like they've made significant changes since others interviewed here.
- Can you share an instance where you identified an issue and took the lead to resolve it?
Data Mining Consultant
I initially met with an HR rep at my school's tech job fair. She then set up an interview for me with the heads of BI and Data Analytics. They were both really friendly and straightforward, and I enjoyed chatting with them. We talked a bit about my experience and background, then jumped right into technical questions to see if I had the skills for the job. As a recent grad with not much interview experience, I was a bit surprised by how detailed and technical the questions got, and I didn't answer some as smoothly as I wanted – it felt like a test! I wasn't expecting that. They didn't share much about the company or the role until I asked for more info near the end. Overall, it was a good experience, but not the right fit for me. Make sure to be ready for a really in-depth, detailed interview – I wish I'd reviewed some things beforehand!
- What are the components of a SQL statement?
- Can you explain particular data analysis techniques and how you've implemented them in prior projects?
- Detail specific data analysis software you're proficient in and their functionalities.
ETL Consultant
Had an HR interview, then two technical interviews. One was with a team member, the other with the Director. I never got any follow-up from the recruiter. The Director's interview was super technical, covering my whole resume, asking stuff not even related to the job, just 'cause he knew the topics. They seem to want someone with textbook knowledge, not practical experience. The onsite turned into a Skype interview.
- Can you describe the different parts of an SQL statement?
- Could you explain the differences between Java and C++?
- What do you understand by polymorphism?
Software Developer
I went from a career fair to a single interview day where I spoke with six people back-to-back. There were two technical rounds, and they were pretty easy. They said they'd let me know in three weeks. After three weeks passed with no word, I followed up and they said they were still deciding. Another month went by, I followed up again, and still no response. I wouldn't recommend interviewing with them.
- Can you explain Java OOP principles?
- How would you detect a palindrome?
- Can you describe sorting methods?
