First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dunaway Associates.
Marketing Proposal Specialist
It was a 3 round interview process. First, a phone screen with a recruiter. Then, a meeting with the hiring manager. Finally, a meeting with the team. I didn't get past the second round; they either found someone better or my salary expectations were too high for their budget.
- What do you know about our company?
- Which software and tools are you proficient in?
CAD Technician
It was a short interview but not bad, I enjoyed it and thought the process was easy to follow. The interviewer was really knowledgeable and nice to talk to. We talked a lot about my experience and how I got to where I am.
- Can you tell me about your civil design experience?
Civil Engineer
I first met them at a university career fair, and they invited me to dinner afterward. About three weeks later, I had a phone interview with HR. The in-person interview was initially scheduled for four weeks after that, but it got rescheduled. I then had a second in-person interview two weeks after the first one because someone couldn't make it. I had to take time off school and drive three hours to Fort Worth for both of these interviews. I met about seven people total during this time. After each interview, I emailed everyone I met to thank them, but I never heard back. Two weeks after my second in-person interview, I received a very impersonal email from someone I hadn't met, informing me I didn't get the job. The whole process spanned over three months, and I felt they really didn't respect my time. It was also disappointing that I didn't encounter any women engineers during the process.
- How would you handle a situation where your project manager requested you to do something unethical?
Graduate Engineer
So, the interview process started with a phone call, then I had two face-to-face interviews. The second one was actually over Skype. I originally got a call from HR and then a call from the director of operations. After that, it moved to a face-to-face interview at the Midland office, and then it continued to the Fort Worth office.
- Could you tell me about your typical goals?
- What does Dunaway look for in candidates?
- What are you seeking in a role?
