The online application was very long and tedious, almost requiring you to rewrite everything from your resume, which they also required. You had to select the basic and desired qualifications you possessed and then explain in detail how you qualified. It seemed like a way to make you write more and get them out of actually meeting with you.

I applied online in late February and got a call in May for an interview for two positions, one in accounting and one in finance. Duke covered travel. The first interview was with the hiring manager, it was relaxed and meant to make me feel comfortable. I was then shown the new office before the accounting interview, which was also relaxed and conversational. Afterward, I went to Duke's older building for the finance interview with two finance managers. This interview was more structured, mostly behavioral questions, but nothing too hard. I got an offer for the finance role about a week later. It was a low-pressure experience.

Using a staffing agency made the interview process quite smooth. My agent gave me good insights about who I'd be meeting with and useful info on the company beforehand. The interview itself was in a conference room in a high-rise with a great city view and plenty of natural light, which really set a positive mood, unlike the usual vibe of intimidating, stark interview rooms.
