Administrative Assistant
The entire hiring process can be quite drawn out, potentially lasting up to 8 weeks from when you first apply until the final decision. During the interview stages, they'll present you with a set of behavioral questions from a prepared packet. A significant portion of the time involves you writing down your responses. It's important that your answers describe a real situation you've experienced, including the specific outcomes or implications of how you resolved it.
- Can you share an instance where you dealt with a customer you couldn't immediately satisfy and describe your approach?
Administrative Assistant
The interview involves a panel of at least three people: the hiring manager, someone from an administrative role, and a supervisor. The whole process is based on the STAR Method, where your answers are evaluated based on how well you provide specific examples for each question asked.
- Could you share an instance where you faced a challenging situation, and how did you navigate it?
- Tell me about a time you encountered a conflict with a coworker or stakeholder. What happened, and how did you address it?
- Recount a situation where you made an error. How did you discover it, and what actions did you take to fix it?
Administrative Assistant
So I had a typical interview where they asked me about my skills and past work. They wanted to know about my duties and why I left my old jobs. I explained I moved for my husband's job and was looking for work. It was a good experience overall, but sadly, someone more qualified got the offer.
- Can you tell me about your experience with Microsoft Excel?
