We exchanged a few emails to set up an initial call. Then, there was a quick screening call. Next, I had a video conf with the hiring manager. They were a lovely person. Finally, there was a second round of interviews to meet more people. An offer was presented via phone and email.

The interview process can be quite lengthy. While I understand that multiple people want to meet new candidates perhaps group them so that the candidate can have one interview. There were 4 different interviews, one with a manager in another country, and they all had to make time in their calendars, which drew this out. However I identified Duke Corporate Education as a company I want to work for so I stuck through the process. I was not interviewing with other companies at the time.

I had a preliminary call with an HR representative who seemed unable to provide clear answers regarding the position. They mentioned they would seek out the information and follow up. The conversation became unclear when they emphasized the significance of 'dance recitals,' which apparently refers to brainstorming sessions held in the office, sounding like outdated corporate jargon. It became apparent the job was primarily for an instructional designer, with a potential future management opportunity based on someone else's experience in the US. I was told to anticipate a response within a few days, but it's now been three weeks with no further contact.

I had one phone interview, and then three video interviews over the course of about five weeks. I had great interactions with all of the people that I spoke to, and I felt they gave me a comprehensive overview of what the role was. They also asked good questions about my background, and were very clear with answers to my own questions. I appreciated their honesty about how the role was expected to support some recent and upcoming changes in their teams. Overall my interview experience was intensive (talking to lots of people) but individual conversations were relaxed and natural. Unfortunately there were some changes behind-the-scenes that led to the position either not being funded, or shifted geographically. So I didn't get an offer, but also as far as I know the position wasn't filled in my region anyway.
