Great experience! The team was nice and easy to talk to. I learned a lot about the company and what they have to offer. I first had a phone screen then was invited in office for an interview. My final interview was quick afterwards.

I found the internship posting on my school's website. After emailing my resume, the secretary called to schedule an interview. She gave me available time slots, and I picked one. For the La Jolla office, make sure to park in the right spot in the garage if you use it; the secretary gives a parking voucher after the interview to avoid the fee. I usually just park on the street there. I went into their office, said hello to the secretary, and waited about 15 minutes. During that time, the applicant before me was taking a skills test in the interview room. Once they left, a male staff accountant came out, shook my hand, and led me to the conference room. Two female accountants, who I think were also staff accountants without their CPAs yet, joined us. The interview questions were pretty simple. They asked about my past work experience and some college details. No behavioral questions that I recall. They let me ask questions too. I found out one of the women used to be a secretary there and became an accountant. All three had good things to say about the firm, mentioning it provides Big 4 experience but feels like a close family, though it gets busy during tax season. The interviewers and secretary were all really nice. After the interview, they told me I'd take a bookkeeping skills test with about five questions: a trial balance, closing journal entries, and cash balance for outstanding checks, plus a question on FICA, FUTA, and state unemployment. They gave me 15 minutes and a 10-key calculator.

Applied for the tax internship role but was unknowingly scheduled for interviews for both tax and audit positions. The recruiter mentioned I'd hear back in a week, but I didn't receive any communication until a month later, at which point I was informed of a rejection. Another month passed, and they contacted me again to see if I was still interested in interviewing. I confirmed my interest and we arranged a time. However, on the same day, the recruiter informed me that the position was no longer available and the interview was canceled.
