Full Stack Engineer
First call: It felt like an interrogation, focusing on my deeper self. David, the CEO, asked about my desires for the job and how it would make me feel, whether it would bring happiness. Second Call: The technical interview was manageable if prepared, though I struggled with optimization. I could discuss Big O briefly and asked questions about the problem and expectations. The interviewer was helpful, and we shared a laugh. I'm awaiting feedback to see if I proceed.

UX/UI Designer
The interview process was pretty good for the first 4 rounds, but the last one with the CEO was terrible, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time. The first round was a quick 20-minute video call with the recruiter, just standard stuff. Then there was a design challenge involving Duffl's current app, which they probably shouldn't have done since they don't have a UX designer, but they seemed to like my work and wanted to talk more. The third round was an hour-long session to explain my design and go over more detailed questions about my thought process and implementation. Round four was a casual culture fit interview with two employees, asking random questions like controversial opinions and what I'm good at. The final round with the CEO was supposed to be 45 minutes but went for almost two hours. He asked a lot of personal questions about my life, my husband, and my fears, trying to get to know me better. He barely touched on design and didn't seem to know anything about my resume or portfolio. It felt like he was more interested in my life story than my skills. He mentioned a two-week vacation before making a decision. After two weeks, I followed up, and he said it wasn't a good fit. Then I saw the job reposted, and they still haven't hired anyone.

Product Designer
So, I interviewed for a designer role, and I'm guessing they might be getting some free design work. I saw the designer job was posted again after 2 months, and I didn't see any new hires, so maybe they didn't hire anyone from the 100+ applicants last time, lol. Anyway, here's how my interview went. After an initial chat, they sent me a design challenge, giving me a week to finish it. They actually emailed me the day after with a reminder, like they were super rushed 🤣🤣. Right after I submitted, just 10 minutes later, they said it was great and wanted to set up a meeting to talk about it. During the meeting, the questions were really serious and detailed. It's normal for interviewers to ask for more details on a design, but the whole chat felt like they were in a rush to get this feature out on their app 🤣. They kept saying my solution was impressive, and then... radio silence. I tried to follow up, but never heard back.

Head of Talent Acquisition
I interviewed for the Head of Talent role at Duffl, but the experience was disorienting. After two quick 30-minute virtual chats, it felt like the CEO wasn't serious about hiring but wanted free work and strategy. The CEO then gave an unpaid homework assignment asking for a big MLM retention strategy plan. This felt wrong, so I talked to a friend who also interviewed and they had the same experience – it seemed like they were just picking brains. I pulled out because it felt unethical and I want to warn others.
- Can you share your entire background and career journey?
