So, basically, I had two meetings. First, I chatted with the company's culture leader and the HR director about my work experience and personal qualities, like how I deal with people and my work philosophy. Then, the second meeting was about sorting out the admin stuff – making sure the job was a good fit and agreeing on salary and working hours.

Behavioral

The interview process kicked off with an initial chat with an external recruiter who was unprofessional, showed up late, and made weird, politically charged remarks. After that, I contacted some internal folks on the hiring team to let them know what happened. They heard me out, but getting updates was a struggle, and I had to chase them for replies. In the end, I was told I wasn't moving forward for the role, with no real explanation or feedback. How they handled the issues and the lack of clarity throughout the whole thing made it a really frustrating and disappointing experience.

Behavioral Technical

I applied and got a request to interview, but the process lacked communication and candidate experience. No salary range was posted, which is required in California. I found out it's $75k-95k. Someone from the team asked for my availability for the next 3 days. Then I got a Calendly link to pick a time, which was weird since I'd already given my availability. None of my suggested times were available, but I found one later in the week. My interview was scheduled for Thursday evening PST, but I got a calendar notification that morning that it had been moved, with no email. It was frustrating to prep and have it rescheduled the same day without notification. The interviewer was a few minutes late and seemed unprepared, asking for my name to pull up my resume. They seemed spread thin, like the whole 4-person People Team. It wasn't a great experience, and I considered withdrawing my application.

Behavioral System Design Coding

The recruiter reached out for an interview, and the initial call with them was pleasant and informative. The next round was a technical interview with someone who seemed to be the Head of Engineering, and the conversation covered my past projects and system design concepts. She indicated I would proceed to the final stage. The final stage consisted of three interviews: a behavioral and resume-focused interview, a system design interview where the question was vague but I explored alternatives and learned about their event-driven approach, and a coding interview where I completed the algorithm but faced assertion issues due to rounding differences. Despite feeling the interviews went well, I received a rejection email without specific feedback, which was disheartening given the effort involved.
