I sent in my CV for the student developer job online. A few days later, they called and we arranged a time for a take-home assignment. They sent the assignment details via email with a 2-hour deadline to complete it in Java. The task was to build a hotel booking system, including features like checking if rooms are available on certain dates.

So first, I had a recruiter call, then a home assignment, and then an onsite interview. The recruiter call is basically just to schedule the home assignment, which is 3 hours long. For the home assignment, I highly recommend using generative AI, cause there's no time for debugging and they get upset if you don't finish it in 3 hours. They do give feedback, but it's AI-generated, so you could do it yourself.

So, they give you this Java Spring homework assignment first, where you have to implement a school system that handles people and grades and figures out the distance between them. I figured they would go over the homework later, but it turns out they didn't even look at it. Instead, the next part was a technical interview where they asked me about LinkedList.
