First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Duco.
IT Support Engineer
The interview process was great, I had two people from the department interview me, and they asked me about my background. From there the questions were a great mix of knowledge and just over personality. They made me feel comfortable so that I wouldn't be nervous during the process which really helped me show what I am capable of doing.
- How comfortable are you using Linux and Mac OS?
QA Engineer
Got a call from a recruiter pretty fast after applying. The recruiter sounded really interested at first. Then had an online meeting with the hiring manager, which was cool and made me feel good about it. After that, I got a technical task to do at home with a deadline. I finished it 2 days early and sent it back to the recruiter. But since then, it's been total silence, no feedback at all. I wasn't even sure if they got my submission. I've tried emailing and messaging on LinkedIn, but nothing. Seriously, this is one of the worst interview processes I've ever been through for this kind of job. I'm starting to think they just took the code from my Github repo for the technical task.
- How would you approach testing Google's Homepage, and could you provide a project with automated tests for certain features?
- Could you create a project in a programming language of your choice that includes automated tests for aspects of the Google Homepage?
Customer Success Manager
I had a call with the Head of Talent, then a call with the hiring manager. After that, I had an in-person meeting with the Head of the CSM/AM team and another team member. I thought things went really well, and I was excited about the product and had a solid vision for how I could contribute. I followed up twice, and after not hearing back for two weeks, I was told the feedback was positive and that there were internal discussions happening about the role and team structure. A week later, I was informed they were putting the role on hold. I later discovered on LinkedIn that they had actually hired two other people into the role around the time of my in-person interview, which required me to take time off work. I would have preferred more transparency rather than having to chase for responses and constantly being put off; I felt like my time was wasted.
- What are your thoughts on standard interview questions?
- Can you describe a time you faced a particularly difficult situation?
- How do you approach dealing with challenging individuals?
Head of Operations
Duco's interview process was thorough, well-structured, and quick. Duco is not afraid to move fast when they recognise talent. Throughout the 4 stages of the interview process, I met the TA partner, hiring manager, and many of the C-suite. Everyone I met was extremely friendly, thoughtful, and professional. The interviews consisted of virtual 1:1s, focused on experience, skills, and competency based questions, and an in-office presentation. The interviewers asked insightful questions and actively listened, creating a conversational and open environment for the interview.
- How do you ensure stakeholder accountability and keep project momentum high when priorities clash?
