I got an email from DTI on a Friday afternoon asking about my availability for a phone interview that evening or Monday morning. I picked Monday morning. They didn't call, so I emailed to reschedule for the next day. During the phone interview, there was no apology or explanation for the missed call, and the questions were just about my resume details. They mentioned sending a skills assessment later that day. After 24 hours with no test, I emailed a reminder. The test they sent was for a news article, not a legal document as I was told. After I finished it, they informed me the position was no longer available. It felt like a waste of my time.

I didn't have a typical interview, so I'm not familiar with that. The interview was in a neutral room, an available conference room. I only interviewed with one person. I think they try and gauge your level of interest as anyone. What's important is that you have a professional demeanor and a willingness to work. Follow all the advice that's out there. Don't talk about compensation during the interview. Dress appropriately. No vulgar language, have your cell phone off and arrive 10 minutes ahead of the interview time. Really basic. I would expect they would ask you about your flexibility because jobs could probably be at odd times.

I first spoke with the recruiter who was super responsive and thorough. Then I interviewed with the hiring manager and after that with the director of operations. It was a short and easy process. They want candidates with a positive, outgoing attitude and a vision for growth. I got to tour the whole office. I had an interview on Thursday, a second one on Friday, and received an offer on Monday.

The hiring process was pretty straightforward and comfortable. Parking was a bit tricky, but they covered the cost. The office is located on the 8th floor. I spoke with two managers who were keen to know about my experience specifically within litigation. They were primarily looking for someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail for quality control, and accuracy in document handling. Ultimately, they extended an offer.
