First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DSFederal.
Scientist
I did a phone screening and then a teams interview. They talked about the job and asked me how I would approach a problem. I think they asked about my background too. They asked if I knew about natural language processing and machine learning, and how comfortable I am with computers.
- What is your experience with machine learning?
- Do you know about machine learning?
Scientific Information Analyst
I was contacted by a recruiter via email in July about my interest in the role, to which I responded positively. However, there was no follow-up for a phone interview. In early October, a different recruiter reached out about the same position and scheduled a panel interview. After the interview, I was told HR would contact me within two weeks regarding their decision. It's now December, and I've received no updates. This company's recruitment process is something to avoid.
- What makes you interested in working for this company?
Project Manager
Got contacted by them multiple times over a few weeks to schedule an interview. I responded and then had a call with the recruiter. After that, I had a video interview with the person whose position I would be taking. It went really well, and the recruiter told me the feedback was excellent. A few days later, I was supposed to have a video call with the CEO and some other managers. I thought I would get an offer, but 15 minutes before the call, they canceled it. The recruiter then said they weren't interested in rescheduling. This really caught me off guard since I was expecting an offer, and they just backed out without explaining why, which felt unprofessional.
- Tell me about a time you faced a difficult situation.
- How would you handle X scenario?
Senior Software Engineer
The interview process included a recruiter call, followed by technical questions covering UI, Backend, Asp.net, C#, Architecture, OOP, Angular, Rest API, JSON, Sort Algorithm, and Programming Language. They also asked about Salary, Relocation, Work authorization, and Availability. Finally, there was an onsite interview where I was asked to describe the most complicated case in my projects and why they should hire me.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- What is your experience with UI?
- What is your experience with Backend?
