This entry-level retail job had a surprisingly long interview process, about three hours in total, with three different managers. It was for a part-time Sales Associate role, not even a management position. The process started with a one-hour phone screening. Then, there were two back-to-back one-hour in-person interviews with both store managers. It felt like overkill, especially since the other employees seemed to be much younger high schoolers. A later incident with the district manager, who wrongly accused and reprimanded a coworker about a till discrepancy, and then couldn't even remember my name after introducing herself multiple times, was the final straw.

I first met with one of the assistant managers and the store manager. They asked me questions and took notes. Then, I met with the district manager (I think, she didn't say) and the other assistant manager. They asked me similar questions and also wrote down my answers. The whole experience was really nice. Everyone was super friendly and professional. A lot of the questions asked for examples from previous sales or customer service jobs, so make sure you have some stories ready about when you did a great job. They said they'd call within a week and they did call a few days later with a job offer.

I applied for the job, and then got a call to check if I was still interested. Then I had a quick 10-minute phone screen with some basic questions. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview which was panel-style. First, two women interviewed me for about 15 minutes, asking about the work environment and why I wanted to work there. Then they left, and I reviewed the job requirements. Once I was done, two more women came in and interviewed me for another 15 minutes. That was the end of the interview, and they said they'd let me know. It felt like a really thorough interview, with a lot of questions about different situations.
