I interviewed in early January for the role and it took about 3 weeks from start to finish. I first had a 30 minute phone screen with my HM, then a few days later had a more technical 45 minute phone interview with a Lead Recruiter that was very high level and actually enjoyable. I then had a 4+ hour on-site interview exactly 1 week later. The on-site was with 4 individuals plus another recruiter when we had a sit down lunch. The interview was by far the most technical I have had, including a sourcing test, a writing test, and then a 45 minute white board session that was "outside the box." It then was another week + before I was formally offered. The thing that stood out the most was the communication from the ENTIRE team. I was never aloud to be left wondering what was happening and where in the process I was. Just when the curiosity crept up, I would get an email from anyone from the RC to the R4R or even the Lead. Their transparency was a breath of fresh air. They also expedited the whole process as I started with them late, and had an offer from two different places. I really wanted to give Dropbox a fair chance and they worked with me. I left a little bit of $ on the table, but signing that offer sheet seemed like a no brainer after the way they treated me throughout the entire process.

I was initially contacted via LinkedIn by a recruiter about the opening. We had a relaxed 30-minute phone chat to go over my background and career aspirations. Following that, a senior team member conducted a 30-minute call that was more focused on assessing my competencies through situational questions. The next step was an onsite interview with three individuals who were skilled at maintaining a good interview flow, asking insightful questions, and providing details about the role and company. The final interview was with a very senior person, which was the most intense, with direct and professional questioning.

They first had me come onsite for what they called the 'phone screen.' Since I live in the SF bay area, they wanted to show me around the office and do this initial interview then. A few days later, I was asked back onsite for a full day of interviews, about 5 hours total. They did provide lunch, but the day felt long because many questions were repeated. Some interviewers didn't seem thrilled to be there and just asked questions without much engagement. For the recruiting coordinator role, a part of the interview involved being left alone with a computer to respond to several 'fake emails.' These included inquiries about interview attire and requests for tourist recommendations in SF.
