The process starts with sending in your resume and application. If they like it, a recruiter or HR person will call you for an initial screening to see if you fit the basic requirements and the company culture. It was a good experience for me.

I was contacted on Indeed about the role. The first interview was to let me know in a couple of days. They asked if I have kids, if I plan to have kids, and then asked again later. This felt like a red flag. Two days later, I still hadn't heard back, so I was called for a second interview because it was between me and someone else. I was told I'd know by this point. After the second interview, I was told again I'd know in a couple of days. They asked for references, which apparently held up the decision, but I was told I'd get a CALL to let me know if I was successful. I didn't get a call, I got an email. The other person had more experience. While that's fine, I'd really consider the questions asked. What if someone is infertile, has suffered loss, simply doesn't want kids, or has any other reason? It's none of the company's business and so insensitive, but clearly they don't want people to go on maternity. Also, don't give timeframes if you can't stick to them and add in more stages. And contact references when the other candidate is clearly getting the job. It wastes interviewees' and ex-employers' time.

This is my second time interviewing at Driver Hire and it was exactly the same as the first time. They are so slow to make a decision. The first time, it took them about a month after the first interview to schedule the second one. I had already accepted another job by then. This second time, it took them 3 months to get back to me with feedback after I had a face-to-face interview and a phone interview. I definitely won't be applying again.

It was a really good interview, they gave me a lot of information and made me feel positive about the job. The staff were friendly and seemed to care about helping me. Filling out the paperwork was easy, and they even made me a hot drink.
