First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Driven Brands.
Accounting Analyst
the recruiter reached out and we did a phone interview and then a video interview. Phone interview was very thorough. The video interviewer was average. The process was not difficult at all however I do think that the hiring manager could have been better with her questions to understand different aspects of previous roles
- Can you describe your previous accounting role?
Leave Administrator
Recruiter interaction was good, they responded to texts quickly. Then I had a Teams interview with the hiring manager that involved standard and some STAR questions. They said I'd hear back by Friday, but I had to reach out the next Thursday to find out they'd already made an offer to someone else. Feels like I wouldn't have heard back if I hadn't followed up. It wasn't a great candidate experience.
- What aspects of your prior employment did you not like?
Director
A Driven Brands recruiter reached out to me because they were interested in my experience and wanted to interview me. We had a good talk, and the recruiter said that I exceeded all of their qualifications and expectations. She also mentioned she wanted to move me to the next stage of interviews. She said they would let me know in a few days, but after a week, they didn't. I sent a follow-up email a few days after our initial interview to thank her and ask if she needed any more information...she never responded. Then I reached out a week after our interview to touch base, express my interest, and follow up on the next stage of the interview process...silence again. Basically, this company doesn't value your time and doesn't think it's necessary to actually communicate. Don't reach out and express a lot of interest if you're going to ghost them mid-process. Have the decency to tell someone if they aren't moving forward. I'd be cautious of this company because of their many negative reviews and my experience. Also, just want to note that they were bought by a private equity company and are performing way below expectations. You should avoid getting on a sinking ship.
- What are the typical questions asked in an exploratory interview?
District Manager
I applied for the District Manager job and got a call back. The job listing was for the wrong location, which was 7 hours away, so I couldn't interview. The recruiter suggested I apply for the Houston position when it opens up. I've applied and keep getting rejected before I can even talk to anyone, even though my automotive and leadership experience fits the requirements. It's a shame because I'm really interested in the industry and think I could have made a big difference in the Houston market.
- Shouldn't you at least talk to people who have the qualifications you listed, especially after messing up a listing and calling that person before?
- Especially when you messed up a listing and the individual was called previously?
