The interview process was a bit messy and I never heard back after it was over. It started with a phone call from a recruiter, then I talked to the manager of content strategy, and finally had a Zoom meeting with a VP. Sadly, after finishing all the interviews, I got zero updates on my application. It's been more than a month with no word. To top it off, one of the interviewers didn't even show up for our scheduled time, which just shows how unorganized things were. If you're thinking about applying, just know the communication is pretty bad.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. I spoke with the hiring manager and two other team members. The opportunity originally came through a staffing agency. The team seemed friendly, but I didn't get the job because they only had a couple of openings.

It was a pretty standard interview. I first spoke with the recruiter, then moved on to the hiring manager. The manager is new to their role and, even though they were really nice and easy to talk to, they seemed a bit overwhelmed by the whole process.

So I found this job posting and I was super excited because the description sounded exactly like what I'm doing now, which I love. I applied, even mentioning my great references, but heard nothing back. After about a week, I reached out directly to the HR team because I was really eager to learn more. Still no response. Then, a few months later, the same job popped up again, this time listed as remote. I applied everywhere, and this time they actually contacted me to set up an interview. I was thrilled! The role was a lateral move, maybe even a slight step down, but I was sold on the company. We started the Zoom interview, and it went downhill fast. The interviewer seemed really young, maybe just out of college. Her small talk was about the local weather and what's happening in Akron, which was weird since my resume clearly states I'm in Akron too. It was obvious she hadn't even looked at my resume or knew anything about my background. So, that was a rough start. Then came the questions, which were the most cliché questions you could imagine. Things like 'What are your 3 strengths and 3 weaknesses?', 'Tell me about a difficult decision you made,' and 'How do you stay organized?'. They weren't just bad questions, they were asked without any feedback or conversation. After about 15 minutes of this, she asked if I had any questions. I had prepared a list about the company culture, her experience, and team structure. But every single question I asked was met with, 'That would be a great question for the hiring manager.' Turns out, I wouldn't get the chance to ask them. In my experience, it's probably for the best. This company has a great public image, but every interaction I had (or didn't have) told a different story.
