First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dreyfus.
Call Center Representative
the interview process took over 3 months until my start date and I only talked to 3 people. HR interviewed me on 3 separate occasions. I didn't get to interview with the Trainer, which is a mistake because that person is in charge of the training cycle and how well I do in my first year.
- What makes you the best candidate for this position?
- Describe a time you handled a challenging client.
Internal Wholesaler
This was a terrible interview process. I felt like they were leading me on and didn't communicate well. They expected me to pay for my flights and then canceled the interview on the day of. The reason they gave for not offering me the job didn't make sense and went against everything they told me during the interviews.
- Can you describe your sales experience?
Salesperson
First, there's a phone call, then you meet with HR, and then with office personnel. A salesperson really needs to have a good voice on the phone, otherwise, it's over. The phone interview is a good test. Then, HR meets you to check if you look the part and if your presence and skills match what they need. Once they approve, you meet with the executives.
- What's your motivation for pursuing a career in sales?
RVP
The corporate interview process felt like a waste of time. It seemed like everyone there was focused on keeping their poorly paid jobs and being left alone. There are much better places to work available.
