The interview process was pretty relaxed and felt like a normal conversation. They asked about fashion, like what my favorite clothing item is, and also some business-related questions.

It was a group interview with me and 3 other girls. We were asked a series of questions one at a time starting with a different girl every time. Overall it felt pretty easy. The only downside was that if another girl answered before you and said what you wanted to say it looked like repetition.

I applied online and the manager called me back within 24 hours to schedule a "group" interview. I had to call them myself to confirm the details because I didn't get an email as promised, and they rescheduled my interview. When I got to the interview 15 minutes early, I waited another 15 minutes past my scheduled time. The interview was with the store manager I spoke to and another manager from a different store, so it wasn't the group interview I expected. They made it easy and conversational, like I was just chatting with them. They said I'd hear back by Friday. On Friday, I got an email saying they wanted me for a second interview with the regional manager but couldn't set a date. I emailed them back a thank you and reminded them of my availability. I had to reach out two more times to set up the second interview, each time mentioning I had another job offer but that this was my top choice. The second interview finally happened two weeks after the first. It was less comfortable and personable. The regional manager asked me to tell her about myself and some basic get-to-know-you questions, which were straightforward and didn't offer much room for error. She started most questions with a scripted description of the ideal candidate, which was odd. She asked about my availability again, and I gave her the same information from my application. The last question was about pay; I had put $10 on my application for previous and asking pay. After three weeks of back-and-forth and two interviews, they told me $10 was impossible. The regional manager asked for the minimum I'd accept, $9.50, and her reaction suggested that wasn't low enough. I mentioned my other offer, which was higher than my asking pay, and she just wrote it down without comment. I was very disappointed I couldn't even make my case, especially since I'd lost sleep over how to discuss it. Again, I was told I'd hear back in a few days, but I still haven't heard anything two weeks after the second interview. It was clear pay was a major issue for both of us, and I probably would have declined the job anyway because of it. However, their failure to give me a decision as promised is completely unprofessional. It's a good thing I wasn't solely relying on them for a job, or I would have missed out on my other offer. I'm very disappointed in their pay and professionalism. They saw my asking and previous pay, so they should have either not contacted me or told me before the first interview that they couldn't meet my salary expectations. I really wanted the job, but now I'm not sure I'll even shop there anymore because they've been rude by not getting back to me. It's unprofessional. They should have communicated clearly about the pay upfront.
