Customer Service Representative
I applied for the job through LinkedIn and heard back within a few days. After that, I was given an assessment to finish, followed by an interview with the hiring manager.
- Can you tell us about your past experience?
Technical Support Representative
There were 3 interactions. The first one was over the phone. The second was on Google Hangouts and it was a really good, free-flowing conversation. The third was in person with the VP and a director, and they asked standard interview questions like about strengths, weaknesses, and workplace scenarios.
- What would you do if you had too many tasks for your shift and couldn't finish them all?
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
- How would you handle a difficult situation at work?
UX Designer
The interviews were both zoom calls. Since I was a customer for 8+ years, I had opinions on the user experience and product offering, and on cloud computing/hosting services marketing and sales. I brought this up in the interview hoping it would help me get the job, but it backfired. The hiring manager didn't seem to know much about the UI/UX customers use; he was disconnected from the customer experience. It was clear they just wanted a pixel-pusher, not a designer who challenges UX thinking. I wasn't offered the job.
- How familiar are you with flexbox
Marketing
It was a great interview process. The team was super clear about what they needed, sent calendar invites and replied quickly, and were really nice and welcoming. The interview had 3 rounds where we talked through different scenarios to check my expertise.
- Can you walk me through your background?
- What are your career aspirations for your next position?
- Describe your strategy for [marketing discipline].
