Test Scorer
The interview process is quite straightforward. It involves completing two brief assessments designed to evaluate your scoring abilities and determine the most suitable level for you. These assessments will cover content typically found in middle and high school curricula.
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this position?
Implementation Consultant
I applied on the company's website. About a week and a half later, I got an email for a phone screening with HR. That went well, and after a pretty detailed chat, I had another quick phone interview with the hiring manager the same day. The next step was supposed to be a panel video conference with some team members.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
- What areas do you have subject matter expertise in?
- What are your career aspirations for the next 20 years?
Director of Strategy and Business Development
The process was all over the place. It felt like 6 weeks of nothing happened. The hiring exec was super responsive and got a scheduler to reply to my email to set up the first phone interview, which was quick and professional. The second round happened a few days later and was also smooth and professional. After that, things really fell apart. I was told I'd have a follow-up call with the hiring exec the next week, but heard nothing. I left polite voicemails for the recruiter every few days asking about the status. Three weeks later, I got a blunt email saying they were waiting until after the holiday for next steps. While that's not a deal-breaker, it took way too long to get that simple info. After the holiday, I followed up four more times over three weeks, and finally got another rude email saying they weren't moving forward with anyone. I'm sure the hiring exec wouldn't be this unprofessional, but her recruiter is really bad. The scheduler was the only good part, though even she didn't follow through in the end. I don't expect recruiters to find me, but at least reply when an EVP asks you to follow up, especially after I've done multiple phone interviews. Remember, today's senior exec candidate could be tomorrow's client.
- What is your motivation for wanting to join our company?
Program Manager
The interview process had a lot of delays before the actual interview day. Even on the interview day, the interviewer was really late. It felt like the company wasn't sure what they were looking for. I felt like I was interviewing without any real direction. It was a really disappointing experience overall and felt like a big waste of my time. It's a shame because I think McGraw-Hill is a good company.
- What can you do for the company?
