It was a really good interview experience. Everyone seemed ready to interview, and the SDR Managers seem to care about their employees. They also really know their stuff! It's exciting to hear about the big plans for Drata. Katie is also amazing. You can tell she's great at what she does.

The interview process at Drata was very nice. I had to sign an NDA, so I cannot focus on the specific questions. Everyone I met with was very nice. There were a total of 4 rounds: a recruiter screen, a round with the support manager, a round with another support manager, and lastly an interview with the director of support. I did not get an offer and did not receive any feedback. I was told it is against company policy to provide feedback, which I found disappointing. The process took just under a month. I would have loved to know what I could have done better for next time.

The interview process spanned 7 weeks and felt pretty disorganized. I was often left waiting for updates and the recruiter's explanations about the process and next steps didn't match my experience, which left me surprised multiple times, even on the day I got the offer. There were also consistent disagreements about compensation and how performance would be evaluated. The recruiter would send conflicting information via email that she'd then change on calls. I was told multiple times, including just two days before the offer, that the role didn't have an OTE, only a competitive base salary with no immediate plans for commission. I was super excited and grateful for the offer, but the offer letter details really blindsided me. It included an OTE (80/20 split with a base salary much lower than what was previously discussed). Plus, there were no clear KPIs for the OTE, just vague statements about quarterly payouts if renewal targets were met. This made me nervous about compensation and unsure how my performance would be judged, especially since this came up on the offer day after a 7-week process where I was repeatedly told there'd be no OTE, which prevented early discussions about the compensation model. I tried to negotiate the base salary to feel better about it given the last-minute change and lack of prior talks. My counteroffer was accepted, and I accepted the job on Agora, feeling better about it and excited to join. I quit my old job the same day I accepted. Then, Drata ghosted me for a couple of days before telling me the offer was rescinded. It was devastating! I get that things change fast, but the misrepresentation of the role and pay structure, along with a 7-week process and rescinding an accepted offer, is totally unprofessional. I hope no one else goes through this emotional rollercoaster.
