I applied on LinkedIn and an HR rep reached out to set up a quick call to go over my background and the job details. The next week, I had two interviews scheduled back-to-back, one with the property manager and then the regional director. It was more of a chat than a formal Q&A. The background check is really thorough and goes through a third party, which took 6 business days. I also had to do a drug test within 3 days of turning in paperwork after they gave me a verbal offer, which was conditional on passing the background and drug tests.

First there was a telephone interview, then two in-person interviews. If I was a good candidate, I would then have to do a drug screening and background check. After that, they would call me with a job offer and then send an offer letter over email.

I started with an HR person who went over the benefits, our 20 holidays, and insurance details. Draper and Kramer seems to offer good benefits. Then I talked to the VP of Construction, who was really friendly and knew his stuff but kept things casual. The only downside was paying $43 for parking for about 1.5 hours.

Behavioral Technical

I applied for the Marketing Specialist role via LinkedIn. The HR person contacted me the same day and set up a 15-minute phone chat. After I explained why I was a good fit, she mentioned the next steps: a call with the recruiting manager and an in-person interview the following week. I didn't hear back after that, so I followed up. I was then told I was too experienced and my salary expectations were too high. My advice to recruiters: be upfront about salary range to save everyone time. Don't continue interviewing if it's clear early on the candidate isn't a fit. And don't promise follow-ups if you don't intend to do them.
