I applied and heard back from a recruiter within a week. Then I had an initial screening phone call, followed by an invitation to a technical interview. The technical interview focused on probability, specifically scenarios about attending a baseball game versus staying home. There were five scenarios, and while not inherently difficult, managing the complexity of the questions and solving them over the phone with good notes was challenging. I handled the first two questions fine, but they were sequential, and without solid notes, I struggled with the remaining ones. Two weeks after the interview, I was informed I didn't get the job.

I had a good experience interviewing at DraftKings. Everyone was really nice and seemed invested in my success during the interviews. They even arranged for me to stay in a nice hotel in Boston for the last round. It started with a phone screen where I got a simple conditional probability question. Then, I had a second interview with someone from the analytics team. They reviewed my resume and asked a bunch of expected value questions. The recruiter had sent me the basic scenario ahead of time, so it was manageable to get ready for it. The final interview was at their Boston office and included two case studies, plus lunch with some of the analytics team members.

There were several phone calls and quizzes to advance. I had 3 phone calls. The first was an initial call with the recruiter, covering the basics of the position. At the end, the recruiter asked a couple of simple probability questions. The second call was with an analyst, where we went through some probability exercises to check my math reasoning. The third call was with another analyst, and the exercise was more business-oriented: how I would solve a problem using the available tools. I thought I did well enough on the third call, but after a week, I was told I didn't make it to the in-person part.
