First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Downtown Women's Center.
Case Manager
It was a bit intimidating at first because it was a panel interview but everyone was very personable and by the end, it felt more like a conversation than an interview.
- Can you share an instance where you had to establish clear boundaries with someone?
Executive Assistant
The interview process was quick and engaging. I did not have to go through multiple tiers of interviews like with most jobs. It was a phone interview and an on site interview with staff pertinent to the job I was interviewing for. The employees were friendly, professional and welcoming. The team followed up right away.
- Describe a time you dealt with a difficult situation involving a coworker.
Mental Health Clinician
First, there was a phone call, followed by a 45-minute Zoom interview with three people: the program manager and two other clinicians. They asked for references during the interview and mentioned the possibility of a site visit.
- What are your thoughts on the causes of homelessness?
- How would you approach persuading someone who is resistant to the idea of therapy to begin treatment?
- What is your strategy for managing an individual experiencing a crisis?
Case Manager
I saw a job fair posted on indeed. There were different tables for different positions. At each table, there was a job description and qualifications. If I felt like it was a good fit, they offered onsite interviews right then and there.
- How do you practice self-care?
