Presentation Technical Behavioral

The interview involved a 10-minute research presentation followed by a lengthy Q&A session, lasting about 45-60 minutes total. The panel was made up of three scientists with strong backgrounds in Statistics and Chemical Engineering. The focus seemed to be more on Applied Data Science rather than Computational Physics. On the plus side, it was a respectful environment, and they allowed plenty of time for the presentation before starting the questions. It was also interesting to see how established companies are incorporating RAG and LLMs for their internal documentation. However, there's a strong preference for specific domain knowledge, like in Polymers. If your PhD is in an area like Inorganic/Crystals, it might be a disadvantage even with strong ML skills.

The process was outsourced through a talent company. It started with an online test. Then, there was a group activity via Zoom. They had previously sent a PDF with information for this activity, but I never received it. The task was to propose ideas for environmental improvements in the production process. During the activity, company leaders and a representative from the talent company observed us. The selected candidate was notified within 10-15 minutes. This was followed by an interview with the company leaders, which involved simple questions and was a pleasant experience. Then came the admission, and finally, the start date.

I got selected through college for this internship. They called us to their office, there were 4 of us (women/BE Mechanical) and they were super welcoming. They gave a quick company presentation. First, there was an MCQ and written test. Then, we all did a group discussion about which education system is better (Indian vs. International) and India's pros and cons in technologies. The last round was HR where they asked about everything on my resume and related questions about my interests mentioned in the MCQ form. After two weeks, they announced that one of us four got selected. I didn't get it but it was a good experience. I'd work there in the future if I get the chance.
