There were issues with communication and scheduling throughout the interview process. I had to constantly follow up to reschedule interviews. Even when times were set, something would come up, leaving me waiting on the video chat for over 15 minutes without any prior notice. While I understand that unexpected things happen, it's important to communicate with the candidate beforehand or during such times. I believe companies sometimes forget that their operational processes are also being evaluated, just as they are evaluating candidates.

I applied and had talked to the HR manager before so I emailed her to confirm. My email bounced back with an auto-reply that she had quit, and to reach out to the new HR manager. I emailed her and it bounced back again, with the same reply for another new HR manager. The interview itself was pretty standard and professional. Didn't get the job but got an automatic reply saying they wished me the best in my future endeavors.

So they want me to come in for an in-person interview at their NYC office, right across from the Dover Street Market store. I met with both a merchandiser and a buyer, and it was pretty professional. They hit me with the usual 'why here' stuff. Just a heads up, this internship is unpaid, but they do give you $10 for lunch each day. Also, before they'll extend an offer, you have to do a trial day working on the job.
