It was a pretty chill interview, like a chat. I had two interviews that each lasted about two hours; one was online and the other was in person. It felt like it took forever to get through the whole thing, and I didn't hear back for like, two months.

Interview 1 was a call with the recruiter, pretty chill, mostly getting to know me and why I wanted the job, plus the job basics. Interview 2 was in-person with the director, felt like a chat but got into details with follow-ups, and we toured the place, which was cool. Interview 3 was a Zoom call with the Regional Manager, also conversational, focused more on me as a person and my personality than just my skills, which I liked. They mentioned there was one more interview but I'd hear back by week's end. A week later, still nothing. I emailed all three, no response. It would've been nice to at least get a rejection, but whatever. Dodged a bullet, I guess, don't want to work for a company that ghosts people after they invest time.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • The recruiter wanted to get a bigger picture of who I am as a person and why I'm interested, then we discussed the basics of the position.
  • The interview with the school's director was conversational but went into more detail with follow-up questions.
  • The Regional Manager wanted to learn more about who I am as a person and get a feeling for my personality over my qualifications.

It took a little while to get contacted for an interview. The questions were pretty standard and conversational, like 'why do you want to work here?', 'what do you offer?', and checking on reliability, attendance, and transportation, plus going over the resume. It started with the spa supervisor and the institute supervisor joined later. I think they set aside 45 minutes. We mostly went over things as I had specific questions and concerns. They could answer some questions, but not others. I was hired, so the training schedule was kinda figured out but it changed a lot. Both the spa supervisor and the cosmetology/lead supervisor are usually pretty slammed when there.

It was a long interview, over an hour. They had 3 pages of questions. The questions were pretty easy if you've worked in a similar job before. I was interviewed by two people, which was a bit intimidating.

  • Can you share an experience of handling a difficult situation with an upset guest?
  • Do you prefer working independently?
