The interview process was managed by a recruitment agency, making it unclear and not very informative. The interviewers seemed inexperienced at interviewing and struggled to answer questions.

I went through two interviews, but they both ended up being about a part-time networking role instead of the full-time desktop support job I applied for. The first interview got interrupted by someone from the network team, even though I said I wanted full-time. At the second interview, which I didn't know was also for the network position, they told me I wasn't getting hired because they thought I'd 'slack off'. This was their reaction to me preferring a full-time desktop role with lower responsibilities over a part-time networking role with no benefits. The written test asked about rolling out 300 computers in 90 days in a live network. I've done a fast rollout before at a previous job, but it needed users to store data on network drives. With user interaction, the fastest I managed was two per day. A 90-day rollout is more than 3 per day, and that doesn't even include creating a solid base image. It seems like the business isn't managed well and they're trying to fix it by hiring a part-time network administrator and a desktop support person who can do everything alone. I don't know why the current team isn't involved, but new hires are definitely in a tough spot. Both these projects show a lack of planning for hardware upgrades.

The interview process is pretty simple. You'll get asked the same typical questions, and usually, the hiring manager will reach out to schedule an in-person interview. Lots of the hiring team will be there.
