First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Doosan.
Managing Director
The interview process started with a review of the applicant's resume to understand their career path. This was followed by a first interview with the team leader and HR. Then, a second interview was conducted with top management. Finally, salary negotiations took place. This process was repeated, starting again with checking the resume for career background, then the first interview with the team leader and HR, followed by the second interview with top management, and concluding with salary negotiations.
- What are your thoughts on sales and marketing within the IT industry?
Electrical Engineer
Interviewed with Doosan Gridtech. Had a behavioral interview with HR. She told me I was on the short list and the EE team hand picked my resume to interview first. She said to expect a call for technical interview in a few days. Subsequently ghosted and unresponsive. I have zero problems with a rejection letter. Sometimes you're not the right fit. It's life. I don't even need an explanation. If it were a large company I could even understand ghosting, but why make so many promises? Empty compliments, false promises and ghosting are unprofessional and just waste everyone's time. Bizarre hiring strategy.
- Can you tell me about the projects you've worked on?
Systems Engineer
I applied on the company's website and they use SmartRecruiters, which was good for tracking. Within a week, an HR person called for an initial screening about my experience, salary, and availability. Three days later, I had a second phone interview with the supervisor, focusing on job requirements and my skills/experience related to the job description. HR contacted me a week later to set up an in-person interview, which was a two-hour block with four half-hour sessions meeting six employees. The first session was with a senior engineer and manager, discussing daily tasks and asking for specific experience examples related to requirements. Then, things went downhill: the second interviewer never showed up, so I sat with the senior engineer longer. The third session was supposed to have two people, but only one, a Project Manager, showed up and asked more experience questions and talked about the company's future. The fourth interviewer also didn't show up, and I waited for 30 minutes. Nobody explained the no-shows. I left, and a week later got a generic rejection email. The interview wasn't hard, and the people I did talk to were nice, but the in-person part was poorly executed.
- In what ways has your work history prepared you for this role?
- Could you elaborate on your professional background in relation to the role's demands?
- What are your salary expectations for this position?
Sourcing Specialist
It was a really long interview day, with six interviews back-to-back with different people from HR, production managers, accountants, buyers, and engineers. It was a lot for one job, but since I was already in the area, it was okay. You really had to expect the unexpected because the interviews just moved from one to the next. Everyone had a different interview style and personality. One was a simple Q&A, and the next expected me to talk about myself the whole time.
- Can you describe your ability to collaborate with colleagues?
- Do you consider yourself a team player?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
