First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DOOB Group.
3D Printing Technician
Had a quick phone chat with the production manager. He asked general questions about my background. It went okay, and we talked about moving on to an on-site interview the next week. I reached out after that but didn't hear back. I get that companies get busy, but it feels like they could make their interview process a bit more consistent.
- What's your experience level with 3D printing?
Computer Vision Software Developer
After the application deadline, I was contacted for an interview within one to two weeks. The initial interview covered my background and general information. Following that, a different interviewer assessed my software skills. I made a good impression and advanced to the final stage, which involved receiving an email on the following Saturday with further skill assessments. This email included general programming questions and four programming assignments. Two assignments were straightforward, while the other two were more challenging, with an emphasis on computer vision concepts. All questions and completed assignments needed to be submitted via email by the end of that day.
- Tell me about your software engineering experience.
- What projects have you completed during your studies?
- What motivated you to apply for this role?
Intern
Had a phone interview which went well. The in-person interview was pretty wild, it lasted about an hour. First, I was interviewed by someone who seemed to be the director. Then, another woman who works there took over. After that, she brought me back to the director, and then she led me outside to continue talking. While we were talking outside, she got a phone call and left me there. Two other people then came in to finish the interview with me. They seemed quite surprised that I was dressed nicely.
- Could you tell me what you know about 3D printing?
- What is your availability?
Intern
I first met with the manager at a cafe outside, we had to walk around to find a place with seating in the summer. Then, I got an email to meet the CEO at the Doob sale location. We sat on a couch on the sales floor which was weird with customers walking by. A few days later, I got an email to sort out my start date, time, and weekly schedule.
- What is your availability to work, and what is the earliest you can start?
- What knowledge do you possess regarding 3D printing, design, photography, and graphics?
- Could you describe your current skill set?
