First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Donor Development Strategies.
Director
It was a professional process with a lot of detailed and nuanced questions. They really laid out the scope of the work involved. I spoke with a few senior folks over 2-3 interviews in total. I felt like I got a solid grasp of the company before arriving for the in-person interviews. This role isn't for everyone, as I've seen several directors come and go; those who are open to learning tend to stay.
- What's your approach to hiring, and outline your first-month plan for team building?
- How would you build a team in your first month on the job?
Canvasser
It was pretty casual but still professional. They wanted to see my attitude, work ethic, and past experiences. It was to see how I interact with people, how I present myself, and if this job would be a good fit. Mostly, I had to answer a few questions about why I would encourage people to donate to Iptv in a way that makes Iptv look good.
- Tell me about a time you had a disagreement at work and how you handled it.
Canvasser
The interview felt pretty laid-back and easy to talk through. It was good they didn't ask those typical strength/weakness questions. They also asked about my major and what I enjoy about it.
- Tell me about your previous work experiences and what you took away from them.
- What did you learn from the jobs you've had before?
- What's your major?
Field Canvasser
The phone interview was quick and direct. If you get a call after applying, you're pretty much guaranteed the job. I was referred by a friend to the Field Director. My friend got a $100 bonus for referring me.
- Are you a confident person?
