After applying, I was contacted to set up a Zoom meeting with a leader, skipping the usual recruiter call. The meeting was confusing and felt off. The person shared minimal info about the company or job. They seemed unenthusiastic and asked a lot of questions about a past employer, like they were fishing for intel, rather than focusing on me. When I asked questions about company growth, the role, and tech, they struggled to answer. It made me wonder if the company was even real. I was told about next steps, but honestly, I don't expect to hear back, and I haven't.

I found this job online and they sent me a take-home design challenge right away without any initial chat. The challenge had 3 tasks, all related to the product, like redesigning a flow. It felt a bit off to me, like they wanted free work. Job searching is a two-way street, and I hope they realize candidates are also looking for a good fit. They should at least show candidates why their time is valuable first.

It began with an HR screening, then a take-home assignment that I had to submit. I was told I'd then review it with the executive team, but that's not what happened. After I sent in my response, I was ghosted. It wasn't a professional experience, especially the ghosting right after the assignment. It felt like they were trying to get free ideas and work from PMs through the interview process.
