First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Domo.
Business Consultant
Because I am a remote employee (full disclosure: I accepted the role), Domo flew me into their head office for a full day of interviews. I met virtually with a Sr. Principal Consultant first, followed by a joint in-person interview with 2 consulting managers, followed by another joint in-person interview with 2 other consulting managers (each consulting manager owns an industry vertical of clients). Last interview was with the VP of Consulting.
- How would you manage a customer escalation?
- Do you prefer to play to win or play not to lose?
Business Consultant
I was contacted by the recruiter and they wanted to move fast. We had a video interview about a week later, then two onsite interviews a week after that with a team and then the hiring manager. After that, I never heard from them. Following up, I was told they were busy with other positions. About 2-3 weeks later, someone from staffing called and set up a third interview, but it was for a different position they thought I was qualified for. I met with a Director, then they grabbed a few other people who were around. After another week or two, I was asked to come in and meet with a C-Level executive. All the interviews went well, but the C-Level executive seemed arrogant and annoyed to be interviewing, even though it was their process. They said they would get back to me later that week, which they didn't. The next week, I called HR and was told they were still deciding. They gave me their benefits package info. Finally, they called with an offer, but I had already accepted another offer with a more professional company. It was a strange and chaotic process. The hiring manager and team were great, but the C-Level staff seemed very arrogant, which turned me off.
- Who are the company's investors and who were their recent C-Level hires?
Business Consultant
A recruiter reached out first. Then I had two phone calls with the recruiter, one phone call with a team member, recorded myself answering questions, and then flew out to HQ in Utah. I had a full day of face-to-face meetings with about six team members. The questions were pretty standard open-ended ones for getting to know each other. It was well-run, and better than most companies.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
