Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dominion Energy.
Analyst
It was a panel interview with a bunch of people asking questions. The interview was pretty long and the answers were graded on a scale. The interviewers seemed to be looking down a lot and not paying attention because they were grading, so it didn't feel like they were listening. They didn't give me a chance to really get into the details of anything.
- Can you tell me about a time you disagreed with a work decision?
Analyst
Applied online and then heard back from the recruiter about 4 weeks later. The interview process was a panel interview, and surprisingly relaxed for a panel interview. Overall, it was a good experience. The interview lasted about an hour and a half. I got to ask questions and felt comfortable doing so. The panel was gracious enough to give me enough time to answer all the questions. I left feeling positive about potentially working with the team. I expect the job to be a challenge, but working with a good team is essential to an overall positive experience. Keep this in mind when you meet with a panel. Be prepared and do your homework on the company. This will provide peace of mind once the interview starts.
- Can you describe a difficult client you've worked with and how you managed to complete the task with them?
Analyst
The interview process started with three interviews with the team, and then moved on to the manager. The manager then requested a fourth interview to get to know me better. After the fourth interview, I received a job offer within 3 hours.
