Customer Service Manager
Applied online, had an initial phone screen with the current CS Manager about my experience and salary expectations. The first onsite involved the CS Manager, Operations Manager (my potential boss), and the CFO. The second onsite was with the CEO (who was notably late) and the Operations Manager again. After that, I had to take the Wonderlic test, which I wasn't thrilled about, but the Ops Manager said it was a new requirement. They extended an offer, but it was lower than what I'd discussed initially, so I declined. The Ops Manager then asked for a 3/6/12 month plan for the department to present to the CEO to justify a higher salary. It was an unusual request, but I did it, and they then met my salary requirements. However, the whole process highlighted organizational issues and the CEO's lateness felt disrespectful. I declined again. The Ops Manager seemed great, but it wasn't enough to overcome the other issues.

Social Media Specialist
I got to my interview a little before 2 pm, but the person I was meeting was in a conference room. After waiting about 30 minutes in the empty reception area, I asked an employee if we could reschedule because the meeting was running long. I decided to wait another 15 minutes. By then, the interviewer had just finished with another candidate and disappeared for a few more minutes. When she finally came to get me, the whole interview took less than 10 minutes. She didn't apologize for being late and just said they needed to hire someone for social media 'asap' and then showed me out. I'm pretty sure she didn't even look at my background because my answers matched my cover letter, but she seemed unhappy. During the 45 minutes I waited, no one offered me water, a bathroom, or an apology. It was the worst interview experience I've ever had.

Social Media Intern
I discovered this role via LinkedIn and was thrilled to get a response within three days of applying. As a long-time fan and user of the brand, this job felt like a fantastic opportunity, and I was really happy with how quickly they got back to me. My first interview was on Google Meet, and I was pleasantly surprised by how the process went. Then, I had another interview with the Head of Social Media, who was just as wonderful and helpful as the first person I spoke with.
- Can you tell me how long you've been working in social media professionally?
Web Designer
I interviewed for a full-time web design position via a recruiting agency. The CEO had me do four take-home assignments for free, including designing an email, a banner, a wallpaper, and a product suggestion for a product detail page's UX. It's a good thing they didn't hire me because I didn't have to send a thank you note.
