The hiring process was pretty straightforward, even though it took about two months. It started with a basic screening interview, followed by three interviews with management. The final stage was an in-person meeting that lasted around two hours. Honestly, the interviews felt a bit underwhelming, though I tend to prepare a lot, so I was definitely ready. During the virtual interviews, I could tell the interviewers were just reading questions off a list and didn't seem very engaged or interested. They kept asking me repeatedly why I wanted to join Dole or leave my last job, and it came across as a little rude and off-putting. To be perfectly honest, they acted like I had bad intentions for applying, as if they weren't actually looking to hire anyone. It was a bit of a turn-off, but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Looking back, I probably shouldn't have.

Behavioral Technical Case

It was a two-round interview process. The first round was with the hiring manager, and the second was an in-person meeting with the team lead. I was asked basic questions about my experience, what brought me to apply for the role, and how my background aligns with the position. The hiring manager focused more on technical aspects, while the team lead discussed general fit and the company's overall structure. It was very apparent that acquisitions are a major focus and take up a significant amount of employee time. The in-person interview had a bit of a hiccup because there's no front desk and no one at the reception when I arrived, so I had to call the interviewer to be let in.

I was already a contracted employee at Dole in the Customer Service Center. I heard about the opening through the Director of the group. She was an extremely intelligent, nice and fair minded woman. Our interview was the standard fare. Basically, she wanted to know if I was interested in the position as I had already proven I fit in and could handle it. She was very easy to work with and talk to so we had a lengthy conversation regarding ideas and the future of the CS Center. It was more like old friends than an interview, as I felt completely at ease.

It was pretty straightforward. First, a phone screening that lasted about 30-40 minutes. The interviewer will explain the internship details. Some questions I asked were about what I should elaborate on from my education and experience, and about the Inventory Tracking software used since Dole has internal tools. I also asked about the final presentation details and if it's ongoing throughout the internship. It's good to be familiar with pivot tables and some accounting concepts.
