The interview process was extremely long and draining, with very little transparency when following up. It took months to receive an initial offer, and I would not go through such a lengthy and unnecessary process again.

It was pretty easy, they asked some basic questions and how my past experiences align with this role. We met over Zoom, it was super casual, and they seemed really interested in me as a person/student. Also, make sure to have specific cases and a type of law you want to focus on.

The interview process was pretty straightforward and quick. About a month after I applied, I got a call. The interview happened the following week, and I got my offer about a week after that. The interview itself was with a group of people, and they each asked me questions. It was a really nice experience, honestly one of the best I've had.

I talked one-on-one with a Paralegal supervisor, who basically acts as the HR person for the department. The interview was about 2 hours, which I heard is pretty long for them. About 45 minutes of it was me answering questions. The hiring manager spent the rest of the time answering my questions and telling me about their own experience. I'm not sure if it's true, but several DOJ employees have told me that if you get to the Paralegal interview, you basically have the job already.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you tell me two of your strengths?
  • Describe a group assignment you've had, either from work or school, and your role in it.
  • Are you more of a type A or type B personality?
