I had a chat with the hiring manager first, then I had 4 more interviews with people I would be working with all the time. It seemed like a lot to have 5 interviews at first, but it made sense why and it was valuable. I felt like I knew people already and wasn't awkward because of it.

So first, a recruiter called me, then I had an interview to check my skills and experience. After that, I did a case study to show how I solve problems. Lastly, I talked with directors about strategy and if I'd be a good long-term fit.

I had a great time with the hiring team! They were super helpful and responsive, and seemed really excited about working for the company. I didn't get the job in the end, but the recruiter said I could reach out to her directly if I was interested in other positions down the line. It was nice not to be ghosted like so many other companies do; it was refreshing to feel respected by the team!

So I applied for this HR role and had what was probably the worst interview experience ever. They didn't actually talk to me. Instead, I got a link to this super long, one-way video interview that didn't even seem related to the job I applied for. I passed that, got an email two days later, but it felt really unprofessional not to speak to a real person. You spend all this time on a video interview, and then just get a generic rejection email. It's crazy, and I'm surprised their HR and legal teams signed off on this. They should really rethink this whole process because you don't get to talk to anyone, which could lead to bias based on things like appearance, disability, or background since the video isn't even tailored to the job. Getting rejected after 48 hours with no explanation feels sketchy. I did reach out asking if there was any feedback since the process was so weird, but I got totally ghosted by whoever handles their HR. No reply at all. Honestly, glad I got rejected and dodged a bullet.
