So I sent in my resume and LinkedIn and then got an email from the office manager / HR person. We set up a quick call a few days later just to check my experience and see if I'd be a good fit. I also wanted to learn more about the job and company. After that, I had an in-person interview with a sales leader. The office was easy to get to. The office manager talked to me first about the job details, then the sales leader joined in. It was pretty chill, mostly behavioral questions. They both shared a lot about the role. Then they showed me around the place. They said I had at least one more person to meet and I'd hear back soon. I felt good about it and was really hoping for an offer. The next day, the sales leader asked about my salary expectations. I was pretty sure an offer was coming. But a long weekend held things up. The following week was tough, waiting to hear back. I finally had to ask for an update about two weeks after the in-person. I got a generic email saying they went with someone else.

Applied online months ago and heard nothing back. Then, I got a call for an in-person interview that lasted about an hour. I was given time to explain my qualifications and asked a couple of professional questions. They offered me a lower position as an installer, suggesting a second interview for a lead/engineer role in about 7 days, which they felt I was more qualified for. They told me to call a specific number if I didn't hear back. After waiting 7 days, I called and got voicemail, leaving a message. A week later, I received an email saying I wasn't qualified for the job.
