Supervisor
I applied online and went through four rounds of interviews. It started with video responses, then a phone call, and finally two in-person interviews. The in-person part involved a round table discussion where I was asked various job-related questions.
- What were the questions in the video response round?
- What questions were asked during the phone interview?
- What questions related to the job came up during the round table discussion?
Substitute Teacher
I had an in-person interview. The interviewer was friendly and the application process was quick. D214 uses a very user-friendly absence management system. I would log-on to this system each day and choose the job I wanted. It was a great, flexible job. I would recommend it to anyone thinking of going into education or working with kids. I’m glad I had the opportunity to be a substitute teacher!
- Can you share your experience working with children?
- What is your approach to classroom management?
Community Education Supervisor
The pre-interview part was great. They communicated fast and clearly, and HR kept things moving. Expectations were laid out. The actual interview was really formal and stiff. Lots of people were there, and they each asked a question from a list, but there was no real chat or follow-up allowed. They asked, I answered, and that was it. I asked what they liked about the job, and they all just looked around until one person answered, then everyone else said the same thing. It felt like a place where you just do your work and don't speak up. My thank you note didn't get a response.
- After the main questions, I had to quickly write a short email to introduce myself to the part-time staff.
Mathematics Teacher
So, the first round is this virtual thing you do right after you apply, it's digital and records you answering stuff live. Then, the second round is a panel interview, you know, with a few teachers from the department, the division head, and some random admin person. Third round, it's one on one with the division head, and then you go on a tour of the school, meeting other teachers along the way, and you finish by meeting the principal.
- In basic school scenarios, what would you do?
- Given a situation that could come up, what would you do?
