So it was a pretty typical interview setup. They asked some typical questions. I had a chance to ask my own questions and learn a bit about the group. It felt pretty standard from my side of things.

Applied online. Had a phone screen, then a panel with peers, and then a VP interview. Didn't move on past the initial phone screen. The phone screen was pretty standard, the recruiter was alright. Some red flags popped up though - the job posting mentioned salary included performance incentives, but the recruiter said there wouldn't be any. Also, they were looking to fill a role that mashed up three different jobs into one, but the offered salary was below market rate and even below their revenue per employee. Normally I don't put too much stock in reviews, but it might be worth checking out their reviews before applying. It seems like they tend to undervalue positions, which probably doesn't set the role up for success.

First, there was a phone screen where they asked about ruby on rails concepts like classes and modules. Then I spoke with the Project Manager about my work history. After that, two engineers conducted a technical interview where I had to fix and optimize some code in a controller, specifically using joins and includes in the SQL, and also fix a view template. The final interview was with the Product Manager and VP. It seems like one of the managers wasn't impressed with my answers, which is okay. The negative part was being ghosted after the last interview. They should just send a rejection if they don't think I'm a good fit. I only found out about the status after I followed up with an email, and then got a call from the manager. Thankfully, I got an offer from another company. My advice to HR and management is to be professional throughout the entire process.

So I interviewed for an analytics manager position back in Jan/Feb 2021. The recruiter said to 'hang on' after the final round, because they were 'coming down to the wire' with another candidate. This happened after a week-long delay due to a personal issue on their end. I followed up with the recruiter a few days later, then again a few days after that, and never got a response. Ghosted after the final round. Super unprofessional, I wouldn't suggest interviewing with them.
