It was a horrible process and experience. It took over 1.5 months from resume submission to hear back. First, a recruiter called for an initial phone screening. A week later, I had an interview with a manager not on the target team. No information was provided about next steps, so I emailed the recruiter. Two days later, I was informed about two more interviews. About a week after that, I met with the department head who was late, and the next day, I met with another manager on the team. The interviews felt very repetitive, with the same questions and information shared, making the process seem unnecessarily prolonged. I was told I'd hear back in a few days, but after 6 days, I received an automated rejection email. They seemed focused solely on filling the role, not on the candidate as a person. Given the uncertainty with the Capital One merger, I might not have accepted the offer anyway, but the process was lengthy and uncalled for. To improve, combine all interviews into one meeting with the three interviewers to save time.

So I had a phone interview where they talked about my background and what I was looking for. After that, I had 4 interviews back-to-back. The person who set up the interviews accidentally forgot to send me an invite for one of them, which messed up the timing for everything else. Everyone was pretty nice though, asking me about my past experiences and answering my questions.

It all started at my university's career fair. I applied, and after they looked at my application, they set up a phone interview, which was about 45 minutes long. Then, I had an in-house interview at their Riverwoods campus. It was pretty standard for an audit internship. Talking with the managers during the in-house wasn't tough. They mainly asked about the company and its products, why I was interested in working there, my past experiences working on a team, and how I handled situations where a teammate wasn't being cooperative. Just showing you're into the company and keen to learn will get you further in the interview process.
