The interview process was really nice. They got back to me fast, asked fair questions, and it was a good conversation. I had a pretty good idea if I wanted to join the team by the end. I only had two interviews before getting hired, which was great considering how long many companies drag out their hiring process these days.

The interview process was great. The team was super responsive as I moved through the process and the interview itself was a positive experience. They asked meaningful questions and genuinely wanted to learn more about me and how I could be a good addition to the organization.

We had several interviews with different leaders and HR folks. They kept in touch with clear next steps. After a recorded interview, we had webcam Teams interviews. The HR team was super helpful throughout, answering questions and providing support.

I saw an ad in the paper, called HQ in Santa Fe Springs, and sent my proof of service. I was interviewed by the supervisor, Paul Varella NSO, at the LA VA Regional Office. Before I got home, HQ called to set up an interview with the administrative supervisor at HQ in Santa Fe Springs. He interviewed me for about two hours. Then I was asked to write a page on why I would be a good service officer. I did that, and he went to talk to the commander. The commander then called me in, told me about the policies, and offered me the job. The whole thing took about four hours.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The unexpected part was being asked to write an essay; I felt the whole interview hinged on it because of my bad penmanship.
