Business Analyst
The HR team in India (Thane) was really unprofessional and provided misinformation. Even though I got the offer, I decided not to join because the HR team was confused about the exact team I would be joining. They were also unclear about the working hours and travel arrangements. Initially, I was told it would be a hybrid model and assured about the salary, but this changed later. They also mentioned a cab service that would pick me up, but then denied it, saying the cab wouldn't come to my location. The most concerning part was when the HR Head mentioned that employees might be micromanaged and that I would have to sign a labor bond of around 2-3 lakhs before joining. This is a very unprofessional way to build a work culture and attract good talent. I would advise against joining this firm, at least the Indian office.
- Tell me about basic Business Analyst concepts.
- How do you manage stakeholders?
Financial Analyst
I got an unexpected call from HR in the evening and they started asking technical questions right away, not setting up a formal phone interview first. A few days later, I was invited for an in-person interview. This interview was with two financial analysts who were hired about a year ago, and then I met with the manager. They asked me about my resume and experience. At the end, they asked me to send over examples of my excel work, which I did via email. I followed up after the interview, but I never heard back about the results, and it's been 3 months.
- Can you tell me about your Excel skills?
- What is your experience in financial modeling?
Scrum Master
The whole process took about 4-5 weeks. I interviewed with 5 different managers in 6 different sessions. The questions weren't super technical, more high-level. Ultimately, I didn't get the job because I didn't have recent experience in the role. It felt like they didn't even look at my resume at the start, which wasted everyone's time. Aside from that, it seemed like it would have been a decent experience.
- Could you explain how you'd handle managing projects that are both agile and not agile?
- What metrics would you employ to assess how well your team is performing?
Pricing Analyst
First, they checked my F-1 OPT status, work authorization, and some background info. Then, we had a more in-depth talk about my technical skills, like Excel and SQL, how I do data analysis, and some customer support examples. They also asked some behavioral stuff about managing deadlines and teamwork. The whole two-step thing was pretty straightforward and professional, checking both if I could work there and if I fit the job.
- Tell me about your experience with Power BI Dax Queries.
