Manager
The interview process was fast, but the recruiting team was unprofessional. A recruiter initially contacted me to schedule the first interview, but after that, all communication was handled by a scheduling coordinator. Even though I reached the final round, and was told I'd hear back within 24-48 hours, there's been no response. I followed up once and still haven't heard anything. It's unacceptable to ghost candidates after the final round, even if it's common practice now. Directv needs to improve.
- Can you describe how you use data?
UX Designer
I was contacted by an external recruiter for what seemed like a good opportunity with a strong team. After the initial recruiter call, the first interview was a Teams meeting with the hiring manager. The second interview involved a whiteboard session using FigJam. I didn't move on to the next stage, which was supposed to be a panel presentation. The entire process took six weeks to get a decision. Scheduling was a bit hectic, with very short notice for the whiteboard session and no clear reason for the urgency. It felt like a lot of waiting around for updates, and I got the impression they might have been a bit disorganized.
- Could you introduce yourself?

Designer
This interview process was a mess, both in how it was handled and how it was communicated. What was presented as a 2-3 hour design test actually took 6-8 hours, which is unethical if you're not compensating candidates for work beyond an hour. I got a lot of red flags during the interviews and the design test review. It didn't feel like a fun place to work, and the design leadership didn't make a strong impression. I should have trusted my gut and stopped once the design test was sprung on me, because my time is valuable.
- Can you walk me through your design process?
