Program Manager
Got contacted by the company after applying online, and they wanted to chat the next week. The recruiter was really friendly and actually brought up discussing a few different job options to find the right match. Everything was going okay until they asked me to pick just one salary figure for several different job levels, including manager, senior manager, and director. They mentioned I'd hear back, and I sent a thank-you email a few days later with some extra questions. I got a reply saying I should save those questions for our upcoming chat with the hiring manager, but then, just eight minutes later, they sent a correction, essentially recalling the message and sending a new one that just said I'd hear back the following week. After that, both the recruiter and the hiring manager went completely silent, and my follow-up attempts got no response. More than a month after our initial conversation, I got a rejection email with no details. I reached out to a higher-up in HR on LinkedIn about the confusing emails but got no reply. The corporate support line suggested I use their ethics complaint website for my concern. The person I contacted on LinkedIn eventually got back to me (now a month later) and said they didn't see anything unethical about misleading candidates, but they did say they valued my concerns. I emailed back asking for an investigation by someone not involved, and their legal team responded saying nothing unethical or illegal happened. This company went under a few years ago, cutting lots of products and jobs, and now they're rebuilding, but HR seems like a sensitive issue for them (based on other reviews). My advice is to steer clear of this company because the bad experience isn't worth it. As a disabled applicant, it's frustrating to see companies potentially overlook good candidates with poor hiring practices and then defend staff who lie. They keep reposting the same jobs online weekly, seemingly looking for perfect candidates instead of understanding why people want to work there and what they can offer. It seems their HR team might be contributing to cost-cutting by keeping roles open indefinitely while casually interviewing people just to keep their jobs.

Account Manager
Applied online and got an email within a week or two to set up a phone call. Call was traditional "tell me about yourself and why you are interested in Digital River." Was then invited in for a round of in-person. Met with 4 people, all seemed to be nice people, got a sense that the team was an energetic, tightly knit group. Interviews were more on the conversational side as opposed to question/answer/question/answer. Felt that things went well and then radio silence. Still haven't heard anything official and it's been 3 weeks
- Tell me about a time where you faced a challenge.
- Tell me about yourself.
- Why are you interested in Digital River?
Customer Service Representative
The interview day included a 40-minute Q&A with a supervisor and a 20-minute chat in my native language with a customer service rep since the supervisor wasn't a native speaker. There was also a written test using specific terminology. Some questions were tricky but manageable. They emphasized teamwork and acknowledged the job can be stressful, but mentioned fun activities and a friendly atmosphere.
- Can you tell us about your teamwork skills?
- How would you handle challenging customer interactions?
- What actions would you take in various hypothetical situations?
Sales
I was invited for an interview by the recruiter, who gave me a good briefing. When I arrived at the office, I was initially ignored at reception for about 10 minutes. I ended up having to go knock on the HR manager's door! The interview lasted an hour. It seemed like they realized halfway through that my CV experience wasn't quite what they were looking for, so it ended up being a waste of everyone's time. Overall, I wasn't impressed, as I think first impressions really show how a company operates.
