The interview process at Digital Infusion was pretty smooth, had two interviewers. They were friendly, collaborative, and professional. Most questions were kind of expected and answerable, but not all. It was open-book, so that was pretty relaxed and supportive.

Technical Coding

I first chatted with a recruiter for a quick phone screen. Then, I had a technical phone screen with a lead dev, which was pretty good. After that, I went in for an on-site interview. The on-site was kind of strange, like a mass interview. They only gave each person an hour and seemed to be doing them all day. They weren't quite ready for me when I got there. The interviewers were in and out, rushing between meetings. The room they used felt like an unused office, just a paper sign on the door, and the interview room itself was totally bare with just a small table and four chairs. It felt super rushed, and I had to do more logic problems (the bridge one and another I don't recall) in a loud, distracting environment. While I liked talking to the technical folks, I had doubts about their approach to code maintainability and teamwork. Honestly, the whole thing made me appreciate my current job more.

Technical System Design

It started with a recruiter call, then a phone screen. The phone screen was pretty easy, but the interviewer and recruiter didn't seem to know what position they were discussing. After that, there was a detailed face-to-face interview. The interviewer seemed to be trying to impress and was a bit out of touch. They weren't really looking for experienced, senior developers, but more for developers who knew theory, like the specifics of inheritance in C# and .Net.

It was an easy interview. They asked me to model a business process using swim lanes, which was a pretty simple task. The position was for a CMS contract. I was asked about my knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid. I was also informed about the travel requirements to Baltimore, MD, which could be one to two times a week, sometimes up to four times a week. They mentioned they only cover $250 per month for mileage expenses.
